Tell us about yourself in 2-3 sentences!*
Let’s see… I’m a Father of 2 trying to make it in the fashion industry. I am a product of immigrants- my parents are from La Trinidad, San Luis Potosi. I am the middle child.
If you could collaborate with any other artist, dead or alive, who would it be, and what kind of project would you create together?
I would have to say Willy Chavarria I think he is a creative genius and the type of project we would create together? Well I’ll let that be a surprise.
Where do you draw inspiration for your art?
Honestly, inspiration comes from anywhere it could be from places l’ve been, people, or art. As of recently, I’ve been drawing inspiration from my parents’ outfits from the 80’s and 90’s.
How do you overcome creative blocks or moments of self-doubt?
Uff imposter syndrome is real and I deal with that almost every day, I just have to remind myself of why and who I’m doing it for which is for myself and my kids and to hopefully inspire others.
What are your future goals and aspirations as an artist, creative, or designer, and what legacy do you hope to leave with your work?
My future goal is to have a runway show where I can showcase my designs on everyday people like you and I or el primo or la prima. The type of legacy I will leave behind is for other Latinos to feel empowered to pursue their dreams. 💪🏼👊🏼
What the most daring or unconventional thing you’ve ever done in pursuit of your creative passion?
Quit my full time job.
