Natalie González (She/Her)
President and co-founder
I was born and raised in the west side of Puerto Rico and was there that I discovered my love for my country and culture. As a child, I used to cut and redesign my clothing pieces. I took my first creative and learning steps in sewing at my Vocational High School, where I attended the dressmaker's workshop for three years. I continued my BA studies in Arts and Sciences in Psychology from the UPR of Mayagüez, where I researched and worked on gender, feminism, identity, and their respective communities. From these two passions, Mulatta Caribbean Heritage was born. Later, I joined the work team of a "Moda Lab" in San Juan Puerto Rico, where I learned new techniques in the area of sewing, manufacturing and production lines, pattern making; specializing in the ethical and sustainable fashion movement in Puerto Rico.
